These are a few really old pictures I found on my hard drive. I took them on two trips I did for SOS Children’s Villages in september 2011. They needed some photographs of two of their social centres located in Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces, South Africa.
Sekhukhune Social centre.
This project saw me travelling to Limpopo near Grobblersdal. This project works mainly with two local communities, Sephaku and Kgaphamadi. It supports about 90 households, most of them are run by Grand Parents. The project works in partnership with the Reach For Life community-based organisation. It is a community based foster care organisation, Providing food and shelter for 24 children in four community family homes.
A few other pictures shot from the car.
Mathanjana Social Centre.
Located in Mpumalanga, this social centre provides hot meals and a safe place to do school work for orphaned and vulnerable children of the surrounding communities, Pankop and Phake. As well as providing various farming and brick making projects for families in the area to be able to support themselves and aid in job creation.
