I have been spending a bit of time in and around Port Elizabeth, running around on a mission but not to shoot anything of artistic importance.  During one of the rugby matches, I jumped at the opportunity to escape and shoot a few pics of the local fishermen.

What originally captured my attention was the way the same fisherman always sat by the lake every day and I found myself wondering how he was able to spend so much time by the dam.  After chatting to the fisherman for a while, I took a couple of shots of his daughter as she played with various bottles and bowls.  I got the first image almost as soon as I took out my camera … the little girl posing with a photograph from when she was only a couple of weeks old.  I liked the way it leant a sense of authenticity to the shot.  Whilst she was desperately shy towards me, I am more than happy with the couple of cool pictures I got of her.  It’s easy to see why the fisherman just could not compete with shy innocence of his daughter.

Heres the rest of the pictures in a gallery format. Just a few snaps while talking to the fishermen.
